Content Authoring Toolkit

Client–Hewitt Inc.
Aim –To develop a template based comprehensive tool for creating SCORM and AICC-compliant Web Based Tutorials (WBTs)

The client wanted a software tool that could be used to create WBTs. Blue Apple created a tool a developer could use to design the courseware, add interactive and static course material, and then publish it in SCORM and AICC-compliant forms over the Internet.

The basic functionality of this software is to:

Create a course structure for the WBT.
Provide the developer with content and screen layout templates.
Provide tools to insert Audio, Video, Images, Text, Flash content in the WBT
Publish the content to a CD or hard disk for deployment.
Convert the content to PowerPoint (.ppt) or MS Word (.doc) files
Make the content SCORM and AICC standards compliant.

LMS Upgradation

Client–Education Online (Chile)
Aim–To upgrade client’s existing Learning Management System (LMS) for SCORM 1.2 compatibility
Platform–Red Hat Linux

The client already had a LMS but lacked the feature to track student progress. The LMS was also unable to provide input to assess various other factors, such as course popularity.

BlueApple studied the existing system, and upgraded the LMS to make it SCORM 1.2 compatible. We also developed related reports, and carried out an online training session for the client’s technical team.

Assessment Engine

Aim –To create an assessment engine using which customers can take online tests

Description –CertFxis one of the leading provides of certification practice tests for various Sun certification exams.

BlueApple was engaged by CertFx to create an intuitive assessment engine, which would allow the learners to take exams in different modes like, Exam mode, Explanation mode, Adaptive mode, and Practice Test mode.

Knowledge Portal Implementation

Aim –To create a knowledge portal for online online learning and collaboration with learners

Description –The client runs one of the biggest library networks across India, and has thousands of subscribers across South Asia. British Council wanted an online knowledge portal that could be integrated with their online library. The idea was to help learners use the online library services, allow them to utilize the available e-learning resources, and enable them to collaborate with each other.

BlueApple was engaged by NIIT to implement the project. The task involved studying the requirement, developing the system as per specification, implementing the system, and training British Council staff across India to use the system.

Citifinancial - Citibank Group

With offices and representatives spread in over 300 locations, Citifinancial had a daunting task of training their professionals on a periodic updates and developments of the Integrated Loan Managements system applications and ongoing Loan schemes. BlueApple co-ordinates with their system development team and has created a centralized training system that hosts training courses synchronized with the Application Launch. An achievement that facilitates easy management of trainings and radical savings in cost and time.

USAID - AED

The channels adopted by AED for education and trainings conducted by it include the Electronic and the WEB medium. BlueApple offered its services to enhance the Learning Programs on Energy Efficiency targeted towards the audience (Energy Efficiency Engineers & ESCO firms/bodies) in the Asia-Pacific.
